The performance of Paul Hindemith’s Capriccio, interpreted by the Runge & Ammon Duo, is now available for streaming on all platforms. This is the first single extracted from Opium, the highly anticipated album scheduled for release in 2025 under the Berlin Classics label.
Mimesis Artist Management is happy to present this new project featuring cellist Eckart Runge and pianist Jacques Ammon, united on an intense, refined, and deeply evocative musical journey.
Inspired in part by the dazzling yet fragile world of the 1920s — a central theme also in their work for the series Babylon Berlin — the album explores the artistic genius and political tensions of an era suspended between beauty and unrest.
Hindemith’s Capriccio, Op. 8 No. 1, composed in 1917, embodies this spirit through energetic contrasts and rich, vibrant lyricism.
«In the album’s context, “Capriccio” becomes both a playful artistic statement and a poignant reminder of an era’s fragility before its abrupt end».
